At Alive Dojo we teach children and adults BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) and Judo from beginner to Olympic/Elite level. We provide a safe fun environment for everyone to learn.
We want to help build confidence, a strong body and mind and living a positive and healthy lifestyle.
Located in sunny Devonport on Auckland's North Shore.
We are Affiliated to Tu Kaha BJJ, Judo New Zealand and Alive MMA Japan.
Members can cross train at any Tu Kaha BJJ and Alive MMA Japan, both of which are some of the best Dojos around.

MEET OUR COACHES
Brendon - BJJ & Judo
Brendon has spent 40 years + on the mats. Judo Olympian and is the youngest Judoka to win the Nationals at Senior. Has won the All Japans at BJJ in his division. Trained full time in Japan for many years. Devonport Dad. Teaches full time at both TuKaha and Alive Dojo. Received his BJJ black belt from the wonderful Pedro Fernades of Tukaha where he trains daily. He also has a 4th degree Judo black belt.
Bryan - BJJ & Judo
Bryan is a legend. Bryan has been practicing Martial Arts since the age of 10. He trained and taught extensively in Japan for over a decade and received his 2nd degree black belt in Judo from the Kodokan. He was the Okinawa Superfight MMA Champion in 2005, and has a Black belt in BJJ under TuKaha. A Devonport Dad who lives by the lessons of BJJ & Judo on and off the mat.
Gareth - BJJ & Judo
Gareth has been doing Judo for 40 + years and is also on his BJJ journey under Pedro Fernnades at Tukaha. One of our most elite Judoka who has represented NZ at the Commonwealth Games and Worlds. Trained full time in Japan at one of the toughest Kosen Judo Police Dojos. Is also a Dad. Gareth has a 4th degree black belt in Judo and is a TuKaha brown belt where he trains daily.
